Bacon Heads West
October 29, 2021- Brady Bacon and his Fatheadz Eyewear Hoffman Auto Racing team are loaded up and heading 1800 miles west to finish off the remaining 5 nights of their USAC National Sprint Car campaign. Bacon and Hoffman’s Dynamics Inc. 69 sit atop both the driver and owner points standings heading into the final leg of the tour. A 64 point margin separates Bacon and 2nd place driver Kevin Thomas Jr.
“We just need to focus and go to the track and do our job like we always do. DJ Lebow has been working hard at the shop to have everything prepared, and Matt Hummel had our car handling great last time we raced out west, so as long as I do my job we should be in contention to win every night” says Bacon.
The first three night of the West Coast Swing will all be November 4-5-6 for the 25th running of the Budweiser Oval Nationals presented by All Coast Construction at California’s Perris Auto Speedway. Bacon grabbed two preliminary feature victories at the 2019 edition of the Oval Nationals and hopes to replicate that success this year.
“We have always been consistent at Perris and were finally able to get a couple wins our last trip out in 2019. The track is a little different each night, and we have admittedly missed the setup a little bit for the finale the last few times at Perris, so we hope to improve on that and be fast when it matters most on Saturday night” he explains.
The final two nights of the 2021 season will be at Arizona Speedway’s Western World Championship November 12-13. Brady has found success in many forms at the Western World over the years, winning in midgets, non-wing and winged 360, and 410 non-wing competition under the different event formats throughout the years.
“The Western World has always been good to me,” Bacon states. “For some reason we always run really good and win at that event regardless of the car or track and it has become one of my favorite races of the year.”
Brady will be attempting to win his 4th USAC National Sprint Car Driver championship as Hoffman Auto Racing try for their 13th owners title.
