Bacon Hustles to Haubstadt on Sunday after Gas City Podium
Lonnie Wheatley, WINCHESTER, Ind. (June 28, 2019) – After another rainout last week, Brady Bacon continues USAC National Sprint Car action at Haubstadt, Indiana’s Tri-State Speedway on Sunday aboard the Hoffman Racing / Mean Green No. 69 Sprint Car.
While last Saturday’s card at Lincoln Park Speedway fell victim to rain, Bacon still manage to get a night of racing action in the books by racing to a third-place finish at Gas City I-69 Speedway’s Jerry Gappens Sr., Memorial event.
Bacon opened the night by racing from seventh to finish second in heat race action aboard the Longworth No. 410 and then raced to a third-place finish in the feature event to round out the night.
“We got in line around the top and it was pretty hard to do much passing,” Bacon summed up.
Bacon goes into Sunday’s card at Tri-State Speedway sitting sixth in a tightly-bunched USAC National Sprint Car points race.
Haubstadt results for Bacon have been mixed, though the two-time USAC National Sprint Car champion feels they are trending in the right direction.
“We were going forward there the last time out and just got collected in someone else’s problems, so I think we should be in good shape on Sunday,” Bacon commented.
Sunday’s card leads the way into next weekend’s Corn Belt Nationals at Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway for the USAC Sprint Car ranks.
